To Provide Education And Training To Children With Special Needs

Day School: Forty one children are presently enrolled into the day school. Twenty teachers provide service to the children, the school works from 10AM – 4PM (Monday to Friday). Children are put through many different activities throughout the day. Children are exposed to both individual and group sessions. Activities are developed for different skill areas. Individual plan is made for each child.

To set up a model training center where all therapies are available under one roof – classroom education, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, behavior modification.

To provide ample opportunities for children to socialize and interact with each other and also with children from the mainstream

To establish vocational and training centers to rehabilitate these children in the community and make them productive individuals.

 

 

To integrate these children successfully into the mainstream by training them to hold regular jobs.

Parent And Family Support

Parent and Family Support: Individual sessions are conducted for to provide information on Autism. We are a part of India Autism Forum which is a large parent group. Regular workshops are conducted to educate parents where stress management techniques are taught for their benefit.

To provide a platform for meaningful discussion among parents and exchange of all available information.


To motivate parents to develop a positive attitude towards their children.


To develop a strong volunteer base to help families cope with the disorder.

Community Awarness Program

Community Awarness Program: We participate in many rallies and exhibitions. We have brought out many overseas materials like bookmarks, stickers, handbooks, T-Shirts to spread the message. We work with both Government and Non-Govermental Organizations to propagate our cause. We are creating a strong advisory group to reform policies and bring about a positive change.

To make the term AUTISM a household name, so any family in need will get immediate attention.

To help secure better services for these children from the community.


Professional Network

Professional Network : We are associated with the Karnataka Parents Association for mentally retarded citizens in the Teachers Training Program for Autism. We are associated with NIMHANS and many other qualified medical professionals for diagnosis and medical management We conduct many joint training programs with other organizations and have a well established Professional Network

To create a network among doctors, psychologists, educators and other professionals.

 

Networking will improve overall quality of care rendered.

 

Information will be relayed efficiently, quickly and smoothly.

Course Content

SHORT TERM (6 months – 3 yr.).

1] All children are to be provided with currently accepted educational training.
2] Tie-ups with institutions in USAUK for constant exchange of information.
3] Monthly interactive meeting with parents to assess progress and evolve innovative methods of training.
4] Design of comprehensive assessment Performa.
5] Psychological assessment and psychotherapy for parents including group therapy.
6] Resource planning and creation of a sound financial base.

MEDIUM TERM ( 3 – 5 yrs.).

1] Data collection and presentation of papers at national and international conferences.
2] Publication of articles in journals.
3] Annual workshop to harmonize with other professionals.
4] Constant evaluation of results of short term activities.
5] Establish independent research institute.

LONG TERM ( 5 – 10 yrs.).

1] Pre-marital counseling to prevent congenital disorders.
2] Vocational Training Institute.
3] Educational and recreational facilities for parents.
4] To fund activities of other institutes.
